Project Description: QoS-aware and Cross-layer Protocols for Prioritized Data Transmission over Wireless Mesh Networks with Directional Antennas
• Design of QoS-aware and cross-layer protocols, and optimization algorithms for efficient transmission of prioritized data (such as compressed video).
• Implementation in Opnet Network Modeler.
Qualifications: The candidate should have a Ph.D. (or a senior Ph.D. student) with (i) experience in designing the cross-layer wireless protocols, queuing and optimization algorithms; (ii) Good knowledge of wireless communication, smart antennas and Opnet; and (iii) Proficiency in C/C++ and Matlab.
The project duration is three years; the position is initially available for 1 year, with possibility of extension depending on the performance.
